Having operated as a gay venue for nearly 30 years, The Laird Hotel is a name well recognized throughout the gay community, both local and international. It's iconic in Melbourne as the bar a guy goes to when he wants to meet real men.

In it fact was the first hotel in Victoria to have been granted "Male Only" status by the Anti Discrimination Board in deference to its history and service to the gay community. We cater to a wide range of men, and it's a great place to meet up with locals and visitors from around the world.

Open seven nights a week, The Laird maintains an industrial look across its three main bars (Nuggets Bar, Back Bar and Cub Bar) as well as our pool room (the games are on us guys!). And like any good Australian pub, we've got a great beer garden out back that draws a crowd all year round.

Well, summers gone & with it the madness that is Midsumma & Mardi Gras time. But we've got plenty planned over the cooler months to keep everyone warm, if not hot.

The 4x4 parties (www.4x4party.com.au)will continue to rock you once a month, with resident DJ's Peter Mac & Papa Tom as well as great local & international DJ's (Mike Kelly was awesome at the March party). Frisky will be back again for the April party.

April & May see the first ever Laird Leather Man competition which will see us providing an entrant for Melbourne Leather Pride (www.leatherpridemelbourne.com) in September this year.

June will see us getting all furry & sweaty with the ever popular Southern HiBearnation. The week-long party kicks off with a special 4x4 on Sunday, and we see the much anticipated return of the UnderBear Party - woof! Check the site for full event details. www.southernhibearnation.com

And for all you artists out there, there's the Men on Men art competition during Southern HiBearnation. This year we are proud to have the Midsumma team on board which will help ensure the event is a great one.
